The 20th Anniversary editions of the Monster 796 are dressed in special celebratory colour schemes and revised colour finishes for frames, brake callipers, master-cylinders and key chassis components in addition to a many other details including design refinements applied to rearview mirrors and seat covering. The model is also equipped with the original Monster-style mirrors.

The heart of this Monster packed in 803cc type L-Twin cylinder, 2 valve per cylinder Desmodromic, air cooled, Siemens electronic fuel injection with 45mm throttle body, clucth used APTC wet multiplate with hydraulic control and 6 speed of gearbox. Its can produce maximum power 87hp (64kW) @ 8250rpm and torque 58lb-ft (78Nm) @ 6250rpm. The 796 engine is a completely brand new, lightweight Desmodue power unit designed to provide the torquey, smooth and enjoyable character famous of all Desmodromic L-Twins.

For comfortable riding, the 796 used light tubular steel Trellis frame with aluminium rear sub-frame is the visual and structural backbone of the Monster. Suspension used 43 mm Marzocchi upside down stanchion fork, which provides 120 mm of suspension travel and in rear used progressive linkage with preload and rebound Sachs adjustable monoshock.

For braking, the 796 used twin 320mm semi-floating discs are gripped by radially mounted 4-piston Brembo callipers to provide powerful and progressive front-end braking and the rear is equipped with a 245mm disc and 2-piston calliper, also by Brembo. The Ducati Monster 796 20th Anniversary is available with ABS (anti-lock braking system). Unlike the majority of motorcycle ABS set-ups, this system has the advantage of ensuring a more natural braking. The Monster 796 20th Anniversary ABS is equipped with ABS, the single seat cover and the neat micro-bikini fairing.

This is the Ducati D66, a custom chopper made by Luca Bar from Italy. Come to think about it, how many European Bike manufacturers (except for TRIUMPH) has production cruisers or choppers? Certainly not Ducati or MV or Laverda. But then, come to think about it, if you want to make them, Luca Bar has just shown it how it should be done.

Choppers have been clearly a HD thing and only this year Honda unveiled the 2010 Fury. The comparo picture clearly shows that the D66 resembles the V-Rod in many cycle parts especially at the front.

The D66 has an original 1098 (which also does duty on the new Streetfighter) is fitted with rear wheels of size 240 inches. With that kind of a ratio and looking at the stance, it really wont be surprising if it makes its way to the drag racesAccording to source, this bike is also being targetted primarily for the U.S market and with a brand name like Ducati, it wont be a surprise if the D66 find a lot of immediate supporters.
