2013 KTM 1290 Super Duke R Review

KTM promises to "provide a vital and attractive to the exciting future of the Super Duke." If that means moving his villainous streetfighting 1290 Holiday Duke R into production, the future KTM is interesting indeed.

After much speculation, is now finally confirmed that KTM is in the process of making 1290 Holiday Duke R at EICMA show in Milan. And while fans of the marque Austria are craving a detailed spec sheet highest powered KTM Duke Holiday to date, facts about naked bike is still ambiguous at best.

What is known is that Duke R 1290 Holiday will be powered by a bored-out version of the V-Twin is installed on RC8R Superbike, the latest 1195cc liquid-cooled, eight-valve V-Twin. Exact displacement of 1,290 Holiday Duke R and electricity numbers have not been revealed yet, but the lump in putting out 152.41 hp RC8R on the dyno when we tested back in 2011. Number oscillate for a new factory in 1290 in the 180-200 hp range. Power to the rear will be managed by a system throttle-by-wire ride.

KTM released the first images of its 1290 Super Duke R Prototype today at the EICMA show in Milan, Italy. With power numbers estimated to be in the 180 - 200 hp range, teamed with a curb weight said to be unbelievably low, the 1290 Super Duke R is going to have a ridiculous power-to-weight ratio.

Potential V-Twin terminated under tubular frame, the frame is composed of chrome-molybdenum steel. Frame paired with one-sided swingarm and rear subframe small open a rear left light racing wheels with two-tone KTM orange and white color scheme in the open for everyone to appreciate. Although the price has not been listed yet, KTM RC8R in 2012 sold for $ 16,499 so look for comparably priced. KTM says "look forward to the future and the second half of 2013 in particular," is that we assume the release date for the 1290 Holiday Duke R.
